Meeting Discussion

1.    Jessica Rittgarn, the Vice President, informed the group of the following:
a.    Jan, our President, is on vacation so Jessica is conducting the meeting.
b.    Raffle ticket - raffle tickets will be given for attending the meeting, turning in a charity block, and show and tell participation.
2.    Colleen Molen, the Treasurer, distributed the MQG membership cards. Cards give us discounts, and other benefits when we attend other guild's events, etc. See the MQG website for additional information.
3.    QuiltCon 2018 Charity Quilt - Colleen is the Project Leader. (She needs to sign up TVMQG by September 30th to advise the MQG that we are participating.) Theme is Modern Take on Traditional. Colleen is recommending that we select a traditional block and make the twin size quilt with just the one block pattern. The group will create fabric slabs with fabrics in the chosen palette, which we need to bring from our stash on the sew day (our fabrics need to read solid in the color palette). Palette for the challenge has been provided by the MQG, which Colleen shared with the group. The charity quilt must be twin size. The TVMQG will provide the funds for the solids in the quilt fabric (not our personal stash). The finished quilt is returned to our guild so we can use it for a charity fundraiser.
                                               i.     ACTION ITEM: Colleen Molen scheduled September 17 for a sew day at her home to work on the Charity Quilt. Members present advised if they were available. Colleen will be sending an email with information on her address, fabrics to bring, etc.
4.    Treasurer's Report - No report this meeting.
5.    Dru from Primitive Gatherings shared a new fabric line from Victoria Finlay Wolfe and provided (courtesy of Victoria) a wonderful layer cake and fat quarter in the line as a giveaway for the TVMQG. Primitive Gatherings will be offering a full range of fabrics and designs.

6.    Raffle Ticket WINNERS -

            Angelica - Fat quarter bundle*
Jessica - Primitive Gatherings gift card
