Show and Tell
Attendees sharing items - All beautiful and creative projects shared! The group enjoyed seeing all them too! See the TVMQG Blog posting for pictures.
1. Jan Prytz – Showed us a pillow from Norway that incorporated folds into the piecing of the pillow top; she also showed us two quilts she made alongside our guild charity quilts using the same blocks and pattern.
2. Colleen – finished a quilt she started back in the days of Flickr, before Instagram. She is thinking about donating it to Quilts of Valor; Finished a clamshell quilt she started at a Latifa Saafir workshop in Santa Cruz. The clamshells were cut out using Latifa’s technique in times before Accuquilt.
3. Susan – made a Patchwork Forest quilt by Amy Smart and a “making faces” mini quilt using instructions found in Melissa Averino’s book Making Faces in Fabric.
4. Jessica – made a quilt from the charm pack she won at one of our meetings.
5. Maritza – made a purple, orange, and black octagon quilt using Accuquilt; she made a pet portrait mini quilt of her dog using a class she found online; she made a little purse using the paper piecing technique and her “add-a-quarter” ruler; she also made a stuffed giraffe mat for her baby grand-daughter to play on.
6. Linda – quilted a Hoffman digital Dream Big panel and loved it so much she bought 7!
7. Nancy – quilted a quilt top pieced by her sister; she told us about a UV light she uses when quilting white fabric using white thread. It makes the thread glow so you can see what you’re doing better.
8. Jan Gates – quilted an orange and teal quilt she calls Sherbet Daisies; she also made two Halloween pumpkin panels
